VIASAT Nature
Format: Promo
Platform: TV
Region: CEE, Nordics
Project brief:
HOOK
Dom is back on Viasat Nature in the original and most iconic series with the hands-on enthusiastic amateur.
WHO are we targeting?
Younger skewing male and female. Dominic is brewing with energy and enthusiasm, especially in this season which was the first he shot. This show captures that magic of being away from home and backpacking in remote places which students traveling during or after their studies will really relate to.
WHAT do we want to communicate?
Actor and wildlife enthusiast Dominic Monaghan embarks on an exhilarating travel adventure to the most remote corners of the globe in search of dangerous, spectacular and elusive wild creatures.
In each episode Dominic takes the viewer along on an intimate journey as he backpacks through the vast rainforests of Ecuador to face off against an army of four-million strong ants, then into a remote cave said to house the world’s largest centipede. He treks from South America to South Asia, where he puts his life on the line in the waters of Vietnam for the chance to see a water bug that can kill prey ten times its size. From Asia to Africa, and the arid deserts of Namibia where the Black, Hairy, Thick Tail Scorpion claims the lives of men each year, and Dominic hopes to get close enough to see it but leave with his life. Along the way, Dom encounters vibrant locals, quirky experts and a host of creatures that inhabit the strange and wonderfully wild places on our planet.
WHY are we doing it?
Seasons 2 and 3 previously aired on the channel and were received very well; repeats have continued to capture an audience and, furthermore, the format is fun and engaging so we hope with a strong push this inaugural season will be just as successful.
