HOOK
Take a closer look at some of the greatest people in history and discover new information about how, when and why they became history makers.
WHO are we targeting?
Viewers who like learning about the most recognisable, famous or infamous, powerful, influential and celebrated people in history. Everyone will instantly recognise these names and faces, have a basic grasp on who they are and what they did, but their desire to know more about the incredible lives they led and things they accomplished make these programmes accessible and appealing to a wide audience.
WHAT do we want to communicate.
Kings, Emperors, Tsars, Presidents and Queens. Conquerors, Rulers, innovators, visionaries, tyrants, murderers. Larger than life characters that dominate the history books, who are often as divisive as they are revered. Incredible people whose journey to prominence and power is inspiring. Their time in power filled with highs and lows, acts of great good and terrible evil with them being beloved by some and hated by others. Some allowed themselves to be corrupted by the awesome power they did yield, while others were cut down in their prime, never to realise their full potential. Whether their legacy is held in virtue, tragedy, infamy or glory, these are a collection of men and women who left their mark on our world and can rightfully be called history makers. Tune in every evening for a profile of one of these great people; discover their origins, successes, tragedies, demises and legacies.
WHY are we doing it?
We have a great selection of programmes that profile some of the greatest figures of history, which we would like to highlight and promote to encourage viewers to tune in early evening and hopefully then look to keep them with us into prime time. These are landmark individuals from a vast array of eras so should speak to a wide audience.
